Email Usage Policy

Your business should have a clear email usage policy that addresses key issues such as what company email should and should not be used for as well as what data can be transmitted. Privacy, acceptable use, and retention policies should also be addressed.

In addition to protecting your business and your customer from security threats related to email usage, this policy also explains to employees what they can do with company resources. We’ve all seen chain emails (some cute and some downright inappropriate for the workplace) – a clearly written email usage policy can prevent these types of emails from being sent across your network while holding those who violate the usage policy accountable for their actions.
